What Is the TOEFL iBT Test?
The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. It also evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks. The test, often referred to as the TOEFL iBT® test, is administered online around the world. A paper-based version of the test is available in areas where TOEFL iBT testing is not possible.

TOEFL iBT Sections
The test has 4 sections (reading, listening, speaking and writing), and takes about 4½ hours. Taking notes is allowed during the TOEFL iBT.
